Timers

Bot timers

Timers are automatic messages sent by the bot at a set interval. They are useful for reminding viewers about social media, rules, ads, or other recurring information. Optionally, they can also trigger an overlay alert with a sound, image, or video.

Creating a timer

In the panel, go to Chat Bot → Timers and click Add timer. Available fields:

  • Name - internal name of the timer (visible only in the panel and used in the !timer on|off command)
  • Interval - how often in minutes and seconds the bot sends the message (minimum 1 minute)
  • Message - content the bot sends to chat (optional if the timer uses media)
  • Sound / Image / Video - media played on overlays each time the timer fires
  • Alert layout - overlay appearance configuration (animation, position, timing)
  • Title template - title template for the overlay alert
  • Message template - content template for the overlay; supports special variables (see below)
  • AI TTS (Google) - text to be read aloud each time the timer fires; requires Google TTS API Key

Variables in the timer message template

In the overlay message template you can use special variables:

  • {ALL_COMMANDS} - list of all active custom commands (format: !cmd1 | !cmd2 | ...)
  • {ALL_COMMANDS_NEWS} - "news ticker" bar with commands displayed on master overlays

Enabling and disabling

Every timer can be enabled or disabled with a toggle. A timer will not send messages while disabled, but its configuration is preserved. Moderators can also enable and disable timers directly from chat using the !timer on|off <name> command. Every timer can also be duplicated with the copy button.

Avoid setting too short an interval and having too many timers active at once - this can trigger Twitch spam filters. The recommended minimum interval is 5 minutes (300 seconds).
