Alerts Overlay
What is the alerts overlay?
The alerts overlay displays animated notifications on stream when an event occurs - such as a new follow, subscription or donation. Add it to OBS as a Browser Source at http://localhost:47201/alerts.
Supported events
- Follow - new follower on Twitch
- Subscription - new subscription (tier 1/2/3)
- Gift Sub - gifted subscription
- Bits - bits sent on Twitch
- Raid - raid from another channel
- Donation - donation via StreamElements / StreamLabs
- Channel Point Redemption - channel points reward redemption
- Super Chat - Super Chat on YouTube
Alert configuration
In the panel go to the Alerts tab and select the event you want to configure. For each event you can set:
- Enabled/disabled - whether the alert should be displayed
- Image / GIF / Video - graphic displayed during the alert (MP4 plays as a loop)
- Sound - audio file played together with the alert, with a separate volume control
- Text - message content (e.g. "{user} is a new follower!")
- Display duration - how long the alert stays on screen (in seconds)
- Animation - alert entry effect: fadeIn, slideDown, slideUp, slideLeft, slideRight, zoomIn, bounce, pop, spin
Layout editor
Each alert has a visual layout editor - a canvas with draggable elements. You can freely position and scale:
- Image / video - the alert's image or video loop
- Text - message using variables (e.g.
{user},{amount})
Each element has its own font, color and size settings. The layout is saved separately for each event.
Text-to-Speech (TTS)
Each alert can automatically read text aloud using speech synthesis. TTS configuration includes:
- Enabled/disabled - whether TTS should be active for this alert
- Text to read - content using variables (can differ from the displayed text)
- Voice - speech synthesis voice selection
- Language - reading language (e.g.
pl-PL,en-US)
Custom media
You can use your own files as alert graphics and sounds. Supported formats:
- Image: PNG, JPG, GIF, WebP
- Video: MP4 (played in a loop)
- Sound: MP3, WAV, OGG
Alert queue
If several events occur at the same time, alerts are queued and displayed one after another. This ensures no event is missed.
Media commands from the bot
The alerts overlay also handles media commands from the chat bot (BiBot). When a moderator or bot triggers a command with an assigned image, video or sound, it will be displayed in the alerts overlay - without needing to add a separate source in OBS.
Widget overlay on alerts
Each alert can optionally display a custom widget on the Master Overlay when triggered. The option is available as a toggle in the alert configuration (similar to TTS and Bot chat message). Required settings:
- Widget - selected custom widget from the list (created in the Overlays module)
- Position - screen position (e.g. bottom left, center)
- Size - widget width and height in pixels
- Display duration - how many seconds the widget stays visible
http://localhost:47201/master). Without it the widget will not be displayed.
Testing alerts
In the panel next to each alert type there is a Test button. Clicking it displays a sample alert without waiting for a real event. Useful for checking the appearance and sound before going live.
