Chat Tab
Chat Tab
The Chat tab is a live chat preview directly inside the StreamieHUB panel. It displays messages from all connected platforms (Twitch, YouTube, Kick) in one place and lets you send messages and moderate without leaving the app.
Message Preview
Each message in the list shows:
- Platform label (TW / YT / KK) - visible only when multiple platforms are connected at the same time
- Badges - MOD, VIP, SUB next to the username
- Colored username - color from the platform (e.g. the user's Twitch name color)
- Message content - with rendered Twitch emotes (inline images)
- Timestamp - optional, configurable in settings
The panel displays a maximum of 200 recent messages. Messages deleted by moderation are struck through and grayed out - they do not disappear immediately.
When you scroll up, auto-scrolling turns off and a New messages button appears - click it to jump back to the bottom.
Filtering by Platform
Above the message list there are filter tabs: All and individual buttons for each connected platform (Twitch, YouTube, Kick). Click a platform to see only its messages. The filter tabs are visible only when at least one platform is connected.
Hover Actions on a Message
Hovering over a message reveals three buttons:
- ↩ Reply - inserts
@usernameinto the message input field - 📋 Copy - copies the message content to the clipboard
- ⋮ More options - opens the user menu (see below)
User Menu
The menu available by clicking ⋮ on a message contains:
- Viewer card - shows the user's avatar, username, and badges (for Twitch, the avatar is fetched from the API)
- Timeout - mute the user for a chosen duration: 1s, 30s, 1 min, 5 min, 10 min, 30 min, 1h, 24h
- Ban - permanently ban the user from the channel
- Ignore / Unignore - hides all messages from this user locally (panel only, does not moderate the channel)
- Highlight / Remove highlight - highlights the user's messages with a yellow left border, making it easy to track a specific person
- Delete message - deletes that specific message from chat
Timeout and ban act directly on the platform (require bot moderator permissions). Ignore and highlight are local - they reset when the app is closed.
Sending Messages
At the bottom of the tab there is an input bar. Type your message and press Enter or click the Send button.
If multiple platforms are connected, platform selector buttons appear to the left of the text field (💜 Twitch, 🔴 YouTube, 💚 Kick). The selected platform is where the message will be sent.
The ☰ button on the left side of the bar opens a quick-insert menu - lets you select a category
(commands /, bot commands !, users @, emotes :).
Autocomplete While Typing
When you start typing with one of the characters /, !, @, or :,
an autocomplete panel appears automatically with matching commands or usernames.
Click a suggestion or use the arrow keys and Enter to select.
Press Escape to close the autocomplete panel.
Chat Appearance Settings
Click the ⚙ icon in the top-right corner of the tab to open the settings panel. Settings apply to both the panel view and the OBS chat overlay (after syncing).
Font
- Font - choose from: Inter, Roboto, Poppins, Montserrat, Oswald, Cinzel, Lato, Nunito, Rajdhani, Press Start 2P, Bebas Neue, Permanent Marker, Bangers, Teko
- Text size - message font size in pixels (range 8-40)
Appearance
- Alternating background - every other message has a slightly different background, making it easier to read
- Reverse direction - new messages appear at the top instead of the bottom
- Hide commands - messages starting with
!are not displayed
Timestamps
- Show timestamps - toggle that enables a time indicator on each message
- Timestamp size - font size of the timestamp (range 8-20), available when timestamps are enabled
- Timestamp position - left or right side of the message, available when timestamps are enabled
At the top of the settings panel there is a live preview - sample messages showing how the chat will look with the current configuration.
Syncing with the OBS Overlay
The Sync with overlay button in settings transfers the current appearance configuration (font, size, alternating background, direction, hide commands, timestamps) to the chat overlay displayed in OBS. The sync is one-time - later changes to the overlay settings (e.g. background colors) are not overwritten.
Clearing Chat
The Clear button in the top-right corner of the tab removes all messages from the local buffer in the panel. It does not affect the chat on the platform or the overlay in OBS.
